Within the framework of the program organized at the Istanbul branch of Türk Ocakları, I conducted a comprehensive assessment of the recent developments taking place in Syria. The meeting addressed the current political process in Syria, security dynamics on the ground, their impact on the social structure, as well as the role of regional actors.
Views were also exchanged on the humanitarian dimension of the Syrian crisis, the issue of migration, and the reconstruction process. In this context, perspectives on the future of Türkiye–Syria relations were discussed. The situation of the Turkmen community, the challenges it faces, and the need to strengthen its political representation were also among the key topics of evaluation.
During the program, emphasis was placed on the importance of preserving Syria’s territorial integrity, reinforcing national unity, and achieving social stability. It was further underscored that an inclusive political process is essential for attaining lasting peace and sustainable solutions. It was noted that the mutual consultations held with participants made a significant contribution to addressing the issue from its various dimensions.
