Within the framework of the 23rd Autumn Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), current political, security, and humanitarian developments in Syria were discussed in a comprehensive manner. Participating parliamentarians assessed the impact of the Syrian crisis on regional security and stability.
During the deliberations, emphasis was placed on the need to achieve lasting peace in Syria, preserve the country’s territorial integrity, and support an inclusive political process based on the principle of national unity. Particular attention was drawn to the protection of civilians, ensuring the safe and voluntary return of displaced persons, the activation of humanitarian assistance mechanisms, and the importance of the reconstruction process.
The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen the political representation of Syria’s diverse social components, rebuild democratic institutions, and establish a governance framework grounded in the rule of law. In this context, it was noted that enhancing parliamentary diplomacy and international cooperation would contribute to achieving sustainable stability in Syria.
The 23rd Autumn Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly provided an important platform for addressing the Syrian issue at the international parliamentary level and for developing constructive, solution-oriented approaches.
